Debasish Panda, the former head of India’s Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI), has stepped into a new role as Senior Advisor at Pristyn Care, a fast-growing healthcare company. This move highlights Pristyn Care’s push to boost trust and innovation in India’s evolving healthcare scene.

Panda, a seasoned Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1987 batch in Uttar Pradesh, brings over 30 years of experience from top government posts. He led major reforms as IRDAI Chairman and Secretary in the Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance. Those efforts transformed banking, insurance, and pensions, making them more reliable and reachable for everyday people. He also worked as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, giving him solid insights into healthcare challenges.

At Pristyn Care, Panda will help shape strategies to make quality care more accessible, affordable, and transparent across India. His know-how in policy and regulations fits perfectly with the company’s goal of serving millions of patients.

Dr. Vaibhav Kapoor, Co-Founder of Pristyn Care, shared his excitement: “We’re thrilled to welcome Mr. Debasish Panda to our advisory team. His deep policy knowledge will guide our next steps in growth, innovation, and building patient confidence.”

This partnership blends Panda’s public service background in financial protection with Pristyn Care’s tech-savvy approach to surgeries. Together, they aim to spark changes in insurance-linked healthcare, widen access, and cut costs—just as India’s healthcare sector heats up with new opportunities and regulations.

Pristyn Care leads in advanced surgical care, treating over 50 conditions in more than 30 cities. The company, founded in 2018 by Harsimarbir Singh, Dr. Vaibhav Kapoor, and Dr. Garima Sawhney, relies on 200+ in-house super-specialty surgeons and partners with hundreds of hospitals and clinics. They focus on smooth, patient-friendly experiences through modern tech and their own network of nine hospitals plus 200 partner facilities.
