Visa made a splash at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2025 in Mumbai, unveiling a lineup of fresh tools aimed at speeding, securing and simplifying digital payments for India and beyond. The three‑day event turned out to be a showcase of how Visa is pushing the limits of technology, from biometric payment methods to AI‑driven shopping.
A biometric wallet for every Indian consumer
Under the new Reserve Bank of India (RBI) authentication framework, Visa launched the Payment Passkey feature with partners Razorpay, PhonePe, PayU and Juspay. The passkey lets users authorize payments with fingerprint, face‑scan or a quick pass‑code—no more waiting for OTPs. The device‑native approach promises a faster, safer checkout experience across Android and iOS phones.
A premium forex card for Indian firms
To help Indian exporters and corporate travelers manage foreign currency, Visa teamed up with ICICI Bank to launch the Corporate Sapphiro Forex Card. Powered by Visa Infinite, this prepaid card loads onto a business account and comes with travel and lifestyle perks worth over ₹15,000. The card is marketed as a “one‑stop” solution for businesses that need reliable currency coverage overseas.
Boosting cross‑border spend with Revolut
On day two of GFF, Visa announced a new partnership with Revolut. The move will give Indian users access to a unified prepaid card that handles both domestic and international spending. The collaboration is designed to tap India’s growing payments ecosystem and Revolut’s global spending platform for a seamless, low‑friction experience abroad.
Revealing the AI future of payments
Visa also released a white paper titled From Automation to Autonomy: How Agentic AI Is Revolutionising Payments. The document outlines how Agentic AI can transform shopping, payments and business processes. It highlights real‑world use cases and the market potential for AI‑enabled commerce solutions.
More currency support for tourists and students
In partnership with Zenith Leisure Holidays and Pismo, Visa is powering a new multi‑currency prepaid forex card. The product targets leisure travelers, corporate groups, and students, offering real‑time multi‑currency processing and broad global acceptance.
A rewards‑focused card for the workplace
Visa announced a co‑branded prepaid card program with Xoxoday, a leading AI‑powered rewards platform. The new offering aims to overhaul employee incentives and customer loyalty programs by combining Xoxoday’s AI engine with Visa’s secure, worldwide payment network.
Visa’s participation at GFF 2025 underscores its commitment to leading the next wave of digital payments. With innovations spanning biometric security, cross‑border solutions, advanced forex cards, AI research, and rewards programs, the company is positioning itself as the go‑to partner for India’s rapidly evolving fintech landscape.
