RCA cancels elections in new dists, pushes ahead with Chomp Stadium project

In a positive step for cricket in Rajasthan, the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at SMS Stadium in Jaipur. The meeting brought together representatives from all 33 districts for the first time in two years, marking a significant moment for local cricket development.
One of the biggest announcements was speeding up the construction of a new international-standard cricket stadium in Chomp, Jaipur. This new facility aims to boost cricketing opportunities and attract more talented players from across the state.
The AGM also made important decisions, including canceling elections held in newly formed districts and revoking decisions made by previous committees. Instead, the focus is now on building cricket infrastructure everywhere in Rajasthan. The committee has planned to develop stadiums at all 33 district cricket centers, giving budding cricketers better facilities to train and compete.
A special committee headed by Ashish Tiwari has been set up to oversee these development projects. The goal is to help young players improve and showcase their talent on proper cricket grounds.
During the meeting, leaders paid tribute to Rajasthan’s legendary Test cricketers Hanumant Singh, Parthasarathi Sharma, and Salim Durrani. The gathering also remembered prominent former administrators like Maharana Bhagwat Singh, P.M. Rungta, Raj Singh Dungarpur, and others who made valuable contributions to cricket in Rajasthan and India.
The RCA emphasized transparency by stating that any financial irregularities in Rajasthan cricket will be properly investigated. The association is also preparing to hold fresh elections, starting with district-level votes, to restore clean and fair governance.
Overall, these decisions aim to bring positive changes—focusing on building cricket infrastructure, improving grassroots cricket, and creating a stronger future for Rajasthan’s cricketing talents. This new direction signals exciting times ahead for cricket lovers in the state.
