Aasif Sheikh on playing over 35 female characters in “Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai”
Bollywood and TV star Aasif Sheikh keeps surprising fans with his incredible range on Indian television. Best known for his hilarious turn as Vibhuti Narayan Mishra in the hit &TV show “Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai,” Aasif has won over millions with his charm and quick adaptability.

To nail a role, Aasif dives into research with his team, pulling references and sketching ideas before tackling costumes and makeup. Once the look clicks, they fine-tune the dialogue, attitude, and even body language. “Then I jump right into the scene and let it flow,” he explained. “I feel so lucky to explore all these different sides of life.”
At the end of the day, Aasif sees every character as just that—a character. “Gender doesn’t matter; it’s about making it real through your skills,” he added.
That said, slipping into female roles isn’t a walk in the park. The prep can drag on for hours, from layers of outfits to full makeup sessions. Aasif remembers one popular storyline where getting ready took a full two and a half hours. And with shoots stretching over days, it tests your patience. “But I love the challenge,” he admitted.
