Mumbai, Nov 27 (LatestNewsX) – The nation grieved when the beloved actor Dharmendra passed away on 24 November. To honour his memory, the Deol family held a prayer gathering on the evening of 27 November in Mumbai.
Abhay Deol, the superstar’s nephew, was among the first to arrive. The event, advertised online under the title “CELEBRATION OF LIFE” rather than “Prayer Meet”, listed the details as: Dharmendra, 8 December 1935 – 24 November 2025, 27 November 2025, 5:00‑7:30 pm, followed by the venue address.
Reports say that singer Sonu Nigam will perform a set of Dharmendra’s classic songs during the ceremony, turning the tribute into a poignant celebration of his life. In the days after his death, Bollywood’s top stars paid their respects at the Deol home. On 25 November, numerous prominent figures, such as Jeetendra – Dharmendra’s close friend of almost five decades – and the Roshan duo, Hrithik Roshan along with his father Rakesh, visited the grieving family. Other actors, including Varun Dhawan, Jacqy Bhagnani, Rakul Preet Singh, Ajay Devgn, and Allu Arjun’s father Allu Aravind, also came to offer their condolences.
For anyone still getting acquainted with the news, Dharmendra died at 89. He had recently been on a ventilator after struggling with breathing problems in mid‑November, was discharged, and then treated at home. Earlier that day, his wife, Hema Malini, wrote a heartfelt farewell to her late husband.
