Singer Abhijeet Sawant just dropped his new festive track, “Premrang Sanedo,” and he’s thrilled about it. The Indian Idol winner always dreamed of crafting a song for Navratri and the lively Raas Dandiya celebrations. Even though this marks his first Gujarati song, he infused it with a fresh Marathi flavor to make it special.
“I grew up with so many iconic songs for Navratri and Raas Dandiya in our culture,” Abhijeet told . “I’ve always wanted to create something just for this festival.” The track blends Gujarati rhythms with Marathi vibes in a fun mixtape style, and fans can’t get enough. They’ve flooded social media with reels, dancing to the upbeat tune and sharing the love far and wide.
Abhijeet smiles at the warm reception. “I aimed to add that Marathi touch to my debut Gujarati song, and it seems to have connected with everyone,” he says. The response has poured in from both Marathi and Gujarati listeners, and he’s hoping “Premrang Sanedo” blows up this Navratri season. “It’s an honor that people are calling it the ‘Garba Anthem.’ It’s trending everywhere on social media now—not just with Marathi fans, but Gujarati ones too.”
For those new to Abhijeet, he shot to fame as the Season 1 winner of Indian Idol back in 2004. His debut solo album, Aapka Abhijeet Sawant, hit shelves in 2005, the same year he lent his voice to the hit playback track “Mar Jaawan Mit Jaawan” in the movie Aashiq Banaya Aapne. He followed up with Junoon in 2007 and Farida in 2013.
Beyond music, Abhijeet dipped into acting with his debut in the 2009 film Lottery. He popped up in Tees Maar Khan, and made cameo appearances as himself in the TV shows Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai and C.I.D. With Navratri vibes heating up, this new release could be his next big festive hit.
