Hyderabad, Oct 10 – Actor‑director Pradeep Ranganathan smiled at a crowd in Hyderabad as he talked about why fans keep coming back to his films. The star said fans see a bit of themselves in his characters, and that “being a hero” lives inside the audience as much as it does on screen.
The interview took place during a pre‑release event for his next project, “Dude.” The movie is set to open on 17 October for the Deepavali holiday. A reporter asked Pradeep why he seems to pull a fanbase even though his filmography is still growing. He replied that hard work matters, but the real magic happens when people feel they can ride the wave of the story. “When the audience sees me, they see themselves as the hero, the romantic, the fighter,” he explained. “That’s enough for me to be a hero.”
At that moment, veteran actor Sarath Kumar said his own take. “You can’t label someone as hero material from A to Z,” he told the press. “Everything we do can be heroic if it benefits society. Every actor has the power.” The exchange drew laughter from the listeners.
“Dude” is directed by Keerthiswaran and stars Pradeep in the lead, joined by Mamitha Baiju, who first made waves in the Malayalam hit Premalu. The film’s teaser, released a few days ago, shows a young man that his uncle (played by Sarath Kumar) treats like a “good‑for‑nothing.” Despite the disapproval, the protagonist is determined, fights his own doubts, and refuses to back down. The trailer hints at a mix of humor, action, and a candid look at the mindset of today’s youth.
A memorable scene in the promo shows Mamitha teasing Pradeep about his toughness. “You think you can take on ten people?” she asks. Pradeep replies, “Even a hundred, I can handle it.” This back‑and‑forth vibe gives the film its energy and promise.
The project is a pan‑Indian venture produced by Mythri Movie Makers and will roll out in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. In addition to Pradeep, the cast includes Sarath Kumar, Mamitha Baiju, Rohini Molleti, Hridhu Haroon, and Dravid Selvam. Cinematography is by Niketh Bommi, editing by Barath Vikraman, and costumes are crafted by Poornima Ramaswamy under the production oversight of Anil Yerneni.
The first look of Pradeep’s rugged avatar—bruised but fierce—holds a Mangalsutra, signalling his determination. With a track record of back‑to‑back hits like Dragon, Pradeep is poised to bring his newest story to audiences across India. Stay tuned for the 17 October release and experience the world of “Dude.”
