Actress Teju Ashwini is sharing her heartfelt thanks for her role in the Tamil action thriller Blackmail. She played the lead opposite actor, musician, and producer G V Prakash in the film directed by Mu Maran. In a touching Instagram post, Teju opened up about the three-year journey and how grateful she feels for the opportunity.
"BLACKMAIL I just want to take a moment to say a big thank you all from the bottom of my heart," she wrote. "This movie (Three years of journey) has been such a great opportunity for me, and I feel so grateful for the chance I got to be part of it. To everyone who watched, messaged, and poured in your love, Every word of encouragement has lifted me up and filled me with so much positive energy. Posting these little BTS moments as memories, because this journey wouldn’t have been the same without all of you who watched, supported, and believed in me. Thank you all."
Blackmail draws inspiration from real-life events, delivering a gripping story packed with suspense. The team shot the entire movie in just 50 days across Coimbatore and Chennai, keeping the runtime tight at a little over two hours.
Originally set for an August 1 release, the film finally arrived in theaters on September 12. It stars G V Prakash in the lead, alongside Teju Ashwini and a strong supporting cast including Srikanth, Bindhu Madhavi, Linga, Thilak Ramesh, and Muthukumar.
A Deivayakani produced Blackmail, with Jayakodi Amalraj presenting it under the JDS Film Factory banner. Mu Maran, the director, gained fame earlier with the acclaimed thriller Iravukku Aayiram Kangal, which featured Arul Nidhi and Mahima Nambiar.
Behind the scenes, Gokul Benoy handled cinematography to capture the film’s intense visuals. Sam C S composed the score, while San Lokesh took on editing. Thilakapriya Shanmugham and Vinod Sundar designed the costumes, Rajasekhar choreographed the stunt sequences, and Sasikumar Paramasivam managed makeup. Fans of Tamil thrillers are loving how Blackmail blends real-inspired twists with high-energy action.
