Mumbai – Songwriter and mentor Aditya Rikhari told that surviving in today’s flood of music and online content is all about staying focused on the craft. On the new music‑reality show I‑popstar—which streams on Amazon MX Player—he guides contestants through the toughest part of the industry: putting their best work out into a noisy ocean.
Rikhari compares his creative journey to rowing a boat across a wide sea. “The wave comes from everywhere, but I only watch my own boat,” he said. “I focus on whether we’re rowing right so we can reach the shore.” He added that the ride never ends; after arriving, he must get back in the water and keep paddling for the next set of pieces.
The Mumbai‑based artist speaks straight: hard work, consistency, and honesty are the keys to success. “We have to keep trying,” he said. “And we must be honest with ourselves and with the audience. That’s what makes a song genuine.”

When asked what he looks for in I‑popstar contestants, Rikhari said, “They must have honesty toward their craft. A song that comes from the heart or the mind, good or bad, wins because it’s real.”
