Mumbai – (LatestNewsX) Aisha Ahmed, the actress gearing up to star in Netflix’s new comedy series Single Papa, expressed her enthusiasm about the project, especially after hearing she’d be working alongside Kunal Kummu. “He’s genuinely so much fun to work with,” she remarked, noting how supportive he is and how he brings a relaxed energy to every scene.
Ahmed recalls the moment she first received a call from Shashank’s team. “We hit it off right away, and the conversation stayed with me,” she said. A few weeks later, while traveling for work, she got the opportunity to join Single Papa and was thrilled to learn that Shashank was directing and Kunal would be her co‑star.
“The whole experience felt seamless, as if it was always meant to happen,” she added.
Single Papa will hit Netflix on December 12. The cast features Manoj Pahwa, Kunal Kemmu, Dayanand Shetty, Prajakta Koli, Neha Dhupia and Ayesha Raza Mishra.
The storyline follows Gaurav Gehlot, an endearing man‑child whose emotional maturity is still a work in progress. When he unexpectedly decides to adopt a baby shortly after his divorce, his family is stunned enough to consider whether they should give him another chance. The chaos that ensues as the Gehlot family tries to figure out how a sock‑misplacing man plans to raise a child is at the heart of the series.
Aisha Ahmed first appeared in a minor role in Tum Bin 2. She made her feature‑film debut in Arjun Mukerjee’s 3 Storeys in 2018 and later portrayed Nikhat Rizvi in Jessica Sadana’s series Adulting, with Yashaswini Dayama. In 2019, she appeared opposite Ayush Mehra in the rom‑com Minus One. The show was followed by a second season, New Chapter, released in 2023 on Lionsgate Play. Ahmed also starred in the MX Player series Balcony Buddies and Zoya Parvin’s short film Clean. She had a supporting role in the 2022 film Kacchey Limbu, directed by Shubham Yogi, and in 2024 she featured in the music video “Nadaaniyan” with singer Akshath Acharya.
