Mumbai, Oct 20 – Mumbai‑based television actor Akash Jagga, known for his role as Kundan in the drama Prathaon Ki Odhe Chunri: Beendani, shared how Diwali brings back bright childhood memories.
In a chat with , Akash spoke about the festive routine that thrilled him as a child. “I loved helping set up the house for Diwali – lighting diyas, making rangoli, even if I mess it up a few times,” he recalled. The actor added that the simple act of decorating the home was a highlight of the celebrations.
Crackers and sweets were also on the agenda. “Bursting crackers late into the night with friends and enjoying street‑style sweets afterward were the best moments,” Akash said. These carefree times, he noted, still stand out vividly today.
When asked what he liked most about the festival, Akash described the “vibe” of Diwali. “It’s the mix of lights, laughter, and the sense that everyone comes together,” he explained. “There’s a warmth in the air, homes smell of sweets, and the mood is just uplifting.”
For Akash, Diwali is more than fireworks. “It’s a time for new beginnings and gratitude,” he said. “I pause, reflect, and appreciate the people and moments that brighten my life. It’s like lighting diyas inside myself, too.”
The actor also revealed his favourite Diwali dish. “Nothing beats homemade food,” he said. He listed Puri, aloo ki sabzi, paneer, and a final sweet treat of gulab jamun as his ideal feast. “Simple, but unbeatable.”
Akash’s reflections capture the spirit of Diwali for many — a celebration of light, community, and simple pleasures that remind us of the joys that bring us together.
