He added that he likes stories that push him to show real emotion, surprise the audience, and take a bit of risk. “After “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,” which had a very different feel, I want a project that’s intense and thought‑provoking. “Resident” offers that.”

Director Akash Goila heads the film, which is financed by Filmeraa. The story explores the darker corners of human psychology and promises a dark, layered experience that forces you to face uncomfortable truths. Shooting has already begun, and Oberoi is excited to start the journey.

Oberoi’s most recent work was “Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari,” produced by Dharma Productions and directed by Shashank Khaitan. The Delhi‑set romantic comedy stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf, with a cameo by Prajakta Koli. The film hit theatres on October 2, 2025, during the Dussehra festival.

The buzz around “Resident” is growing as fans look forward to watching Oberoi tackle one of his toughest roles yet.
