Kareena Kapoor Khan, one of India’s most bankable actresses, pulled no punches about how her idea of wealth has changed after 26 years in the film industry.

During a special session in New Delhi on Wednesday evening, the actor‑turned‑brand‑ambassador for HSBC Premier explained that being a star now means more than just a paycheck. “People want an experience of life,” she said. “It’s about independence, spending wisely, and planning for the future.”

Kareena highlighted that the entertainment world has shifted toward equal pay. “Actors are demanding that we be compensated on par with our male counterparts,” she added, underscoring how that fight for equality has reshaped the definition of wealth for women.

Even after marrying fellow actor Saif Ali Khan, Kareena has kept her professional independence. “I’ve always wanted to stay independent, even after getting married. Now, as a mother, I enjoy my wealth every day while still looking ahead,” she said.

The conversation also touched on her upcoming film work. Kareena has begun shooting Meghna Gulzar’s new drama Daayra, where she will share the screen with Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The actress’s candid remarks about financial freedom, career longevity, and personal independence sparked interest among fans and the business community alike, reinforcing her status as a role model for many young Indian women.
