Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan recently opened up about how applause keeps us going and why we should never take it for granted, especially as generations change their ways of showing appreciation.

In his latest blog post, the 81-year-old star shared a heartwarming photo from the set of his popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. The image captures a lively audience giving Bachchan a standing ovation, cheering wildly as he waves back with a big smile. He captioned it in Hindi: “Ye taaliyan ki goonj humein jeevit rakhti hai, inhe kabhi bhi bhoolna nahi chahiye!” It translates to: “These echoes of claps keep us alive; they must never be forgotten.”

Bachchan went on to reflect on how different generations value praise in their own ways. “The young have their own standards of belief and praise and dislike,” he wrote. “The elders have a connect with what has passed. What the next Gen will do is a mystery… And it should be.”

Known as an avid blogger, Bachchan posts daily updates for his fans, whom he calls his “extended family” or EF. He keeps things real and personal, drawing from his decades in the spotlight.

Just recently, the icon shared deeper thoughts on life’s true riches during another blog entry. He emphasized simplicity, satisfaction, and the real lessons that matter. For Bachchan, wealth isn’t about fancy cars or big houses—it’s about the values you pass down to your kids and grandkids.

“Each day a learning… a learning of the simplicity of life and living… of the attitude of satisfaction… of the adverse resentment in a way of luxury and high end living—for at the end of life, nothing goes along with you,” he wrote. He added that what you leave behind is the wisdom you share with the next generation. “For they shall be the true bearers of your living life.”

Looking back at his time on Kaun Banega Crorepati, Bachchan called the crowd’s affection his biggest privilege. “That is the truest learning… the true giver of an inspiration that no ‘thinker’ ‘philosopher’ shall enumerate,” he said. “Try it… and be alive to it… there is no greater force than that which you carry within.”

Fans love these glimpses into Bachchan’s wisdom, blending his superstar life with timeless advice on generational differences, life lessons, and staying grounded.
