In his heartfelt acceptance speech, Gilroy gushed over the fans who truly connected with the show. “I want to thank the fans who did more than watch the show—they listened, they cared,” he said. He also shouted out his brothers, Tony and John Gilroy, who collaborated with him on crafting the intense storyline of Andor. The series dives into the life of Cassian Andor, a clever thief turned rebel spy, in the tense years before the iconic Star Wars movies. Critics and viewers rave about its sharp writing, gripping storytelling, and powerhouse performances that bring the Star Wars universe to life.

The night wasn’t just about Andor—history unfolded too. Tramell Tillman made headlines as the first Black man to win an Emmy in his category, a huge milestone for diversity in TV awards. Seth Rogen grabbed the Best Lead Actor trophy for his hilarious turn in The Studio, while Jean Smart charmed everyone with her Best Lead Actress win for Hacks.

Other big moments included Britt Lower’s well-deserved Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series award for Severance, and Katherine LaNasa’s Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series nod for The Pitt. The 2025 Emmys truly celebrated bold stories and fresh talent across the board.
