Renowned Indian singer Armaan Malik has shared a touching tribute to the late Assamese music legend Zubeen Garg. He belted out one of Garg’s most beloved songs, “Mayabini Ratir Bukut,” in a video that’s pulling at heartstrings everywhere.

Armaan posted the clip on Instagram, explaining how every trip to Assam inspired him to perform the track as a nod to Garg. “Today, singing it feels heavier than ever,” he wrote. “Can’t believe he is no more and it breaks my heart that I never got the chance to truly know him properly—a wish that will forever remain unfulfilled. My deepest condolences to his family, friends, and every soul who found life in his music.”

He wrapped up with a poignant sign-off: “Rest in peace Zubeen da… a legend gone too soon. Your beautiful voice will echo in our hearts forever,” adding a white heart emoji.

The grief hit Armaan hard, and he shared more on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday. “I am devastated and in disbelief. May his soul rest in peace… #ZubeenGarg,” he posted simply.

Other stars joined in mourning Zubeen Garg’s sudden death. Rapper Badshah tweeted, “Never met him. Heard his songs. Heard his stories. Never knew it would hurt so much. Rest in peace ZubeenDa.”

Composer Vishal Dadlani poured out his shock too: “I can’t believe this. My brain is in shock, my heart is shattered! #ZubeenGarg has left a void I don’t think anyone else can ever fill. He was a true megastar, a man of his people, a true lover of Assam, loved by fans to a level where their pain today is just unimaginable. My deepest condolences to his family and to everyone who was touched by this larger-than-life legend. If anyone really lived rock and roll, it was Zubeen.”

Fans and fellow artists across India are flooding social media with tributes to the iconic Assamese singer, whose music touched millions.

Zubeen Garg tragically passed away after a scuba diving accident in Singapore. Police rescued him from the water and rushed him to a nearby hospital’s ICU, but doctors couldn’t save him. His untimely death has left the music world reeling.
