Mumbai, India – On the occasion of Diwali, popular TV actress Avika Gor shared how special her first festival celebration was with her husband, Milind Chandwani. In an exclusive interview, the “Balika Vadhu” star welcomed viewers with a warm message, saying the holiday felt even more meaningful because it was the first time the couple light‑up the night together.
“We’re excited to celebrate this Diwali as a team,” Avika told reporters. “It’s extra special for us. Let’s enjoy lights, sweets, and each other’s company.” She added a gentle reminder: “Please avoid firecrackers – they scare animals, children and the elderly. Let’s keep the festival joyous and safe.”
Milind chimed in, “Have a safe, happy, and prosperous Diwali. Eat lots of sweets, buy new clothes, and keep smiling. Happy Diwali, everyone.”
The couple’s wedding was a national TV event. Avika, who is known for her roles in “Balika Vadhu” and “Sasural Simar Ka,” married Milind on the reality show Pati Patni Aur Panga. She explained that the decision to tie the knot on live TV was controversial. “We expected criticism, and we didn’t surprise ourselves,” Avika said. “I’ve always made unconventional choices, from early work opportunities to this wedding. It isn’t easy, but I believe in forging my own path.”
Describing the ceremony as another chapter, she added, “My life and journey are something many people admire. I’m grateful for that, but it also takes strength to handle criticism and stay true to yourself.”
Avika and Milind have been together for over six years before making their relationship public. Their union and festive celebration reflect a blend of Indian tradition and modern celebrity life, resonating with fans across the country.
