A quick look back

The 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh re‑imagined the 1978 classic and starred Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday. The original, released in 1978, featured Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur, with cameos from Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. Mudassar Aziz is taking the helm for the sequel, promising a fresh but familiar storyline.

What’s next for Ayushmann?

While Pati Patni Aur Woh Do heads to the big screen, Ayushmann is already working on Thamma, a horror‑comedy that mixes supernatural drama with humor. His role as Alok will star alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. The film is slated for a Diwali release on 21 October, adding a spooky twist to the festival month.

Why it matters

With a star‑packed cast, a beloved franchise, and a strategic Holi release, the movie is expected to drive high footfall in multiplexes across India. Fans eager for light‑hearted entertainment and Bollywood romance have a clear reason to mark their calendars: March 4, 2026.
