Fans of the epic Baahubali franchise are buzzing with excitement as director S.S. Rajamouli puts the final touches on Baahubali: The Epic, a special combined version of both parts. On Friday, the film’s team celebrated actor Sathyaraj’s birthday with a heartfelt shoutout on X (formerly Twitter). Sathyaraj nailed the role of the loyal warrior Kattappa, and his performance remains a fan favorite.
The official Baahubali account posted: “Today, we celebrate the man who brought Kattappa to life, Sathyaraj garu! From daring stunts to sword fights, he proved that true warriors never age—they only grow stronger. Not just an actor but a true inspiration. Happy Birthday, Sir! #BaahubaliTheEpic #BaahubaliTheEpicOnOct31st.”
To make things even more fun, the team shared a behind-the-scenes video from the first film, showing Sathyaraj pulling off an intense stunt. It’s a great reminder of the action-packed sequences that made the movie legendary.
This birthday wish comes at a perfect time, as the Baahubali team gears up for the film’s 10th anniversary. They’re re-releasing Baahubali: The Epic—a single movie blending both parts—on October 31, 2025, in theaters worldwide. Rajamouli shared his thoughts: “Baahubali. The beginning of many journeys. Countless memories. Endless inspiration. It’s been 10 years. Marking this special milestone with #BaahubaliTheEpic, a two-part combined film. In theatres worldwide on October 31, 2025.”
The original Baahubali: The Beginning hit screens on July 10, 2015, starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, and Tamannaah. Directed by Rajamouli, it shattered box office records and became a massive hit. The sequel, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, arrived in 2017 across over 9,000 screens globally. Made on a whopping ₹250 crore budget, it grossed more than ₹1,800 crore worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Indian film ever and the first to cross ₹1,000 crore.
Baahubali 2 didn’t just dominate the box office—it earned rave reviews and scooped up awards. At the 65th National Film Awards, it won for Best Stunt Choreography, Best Special Effects, and Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Internationally, it grabbed the Saturn Award for Best International Film at the 44th Saturn Awards.
Producer Shobu Yarlagadda first teased the re-release plans, saying: “I am thrilled to inform you all that we are planning an Indian and international re-release of @BaahubaliMovie in October this year. It won’t just be a re-release—it will be a year of celebration for our beloved fans! Expect nostalgia, new reveals, and a few epic surprises along the way. Stay tuned! #ReliveTheEpic! #BaahubaliReturns.”
Whether you’re a die-hard fan or new to the saga, this re-release offers a chance to relive the thrills of Baahubali all over again.
