Blake Lively celebrates 18 years of ‘Gossip Girl’, drops rare BTS with Michelle Trachtenberg, Penn Badgley and others

Blake Lively is taking fans down memory lane as she marks 18 years since Gossip Girl first hit screens. The Hollywood star shared a fun carousel of behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, capturing her time on the iconic teen drama set.

In the pics, Lively hugs her on-screen bestie Leighton Meester, who played the sharp-tongued Blair Waldorf. You’ll also spot shots with late co-star Michelle Trachtenberg, plus Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick, and Chace Crawford—key players in the show’s Upper East Side world.

Lively’s caption hits all the nostalgic notes: “the summer gossip girl turned 18…This show was my college. It was my education, my social life, my hardwork, my late nights and early mornings, my teacher. New York City and Silvercup Studios (& sometimes Paris was my campus for SIX years. So many memories. What. A. Decade. What a University.”

Gossip Girl fans flooded social media with love, sparking a wave of throwback vibes. One commenter gushed, “So many memories… so much fun,” while another said, “so precious omg.” The show, which aired from 2007 to 2012 across 121 episodes, followed a crew of rich New York teens whose juicy secrets got spilled by a mysterious anonymous blogger—Gossip Girl herself.

The series starred Lively as Serena van der Woodsen alongside Meester, Westwick as Chuck Bass, Crawford as Nate Archibald, and others like Kelly Rutherford, Matthew Settle, and Jessica Szohr. It became a total cultural hit, shaping fashion, drama, and teen TV for years.

Shifting gears to Lively’s latest moves, she’s gearing up to star in the action-romantic comedy The Survival List. This marks her first big theatrical role since wrapping up a messy legal battle with director Justin Baldoni on the film It Ends With Us.

Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment, retaliation, and orchestrating a smear campaign after she raised concerns about the set environment. Baldoni countersued for defamation, but a judge tossed that case out.
