Radhika Vidyasagar Shares Heartwarming Throwback to Her Early Days with Sudhir Joshi and Boman Irani
Mumbai-based actress Radhika Vidyasagar recently opened up about a special moment from her budding career. She fondly remembered her first big break in the Marathi TV show Ek Dhaga Asa Sukha Cha, where she crossed paths with veteran actor Sudhir Joshi. This encounter even led to a surprise photoshoot with the talented Boman Irani, who was then making waves as a top photographer.
Back then, Radhika was in her early 20s, just stepping into the world of television after some theatre experience in Pune. She shared how close-knit the Ek Dhaga Asa Sukha Cha cast felt. "We were all around 20-23 years old and spent our entire days together—eating, traveling, and laughing non-stop," Radhika recalled. "It wasn’t just a TV show; it became an emotion for us. When it wrapped up after a year, we all cried like family breaking apart."
Sudhir Joshi, a beloved figure in Marathi cinema and theatre, played a key role in spotting her talent. He encouraged the young actress to get a professional photoshoot done. "Sudhir Kaka was working on I Am Not Bajirao with Boman Irani," she said. "One day, he casually mentioned, ‘If you want a photoshoot, I’ll talk to Boman.’ I was stunned! Boman Irani and a photoshoot? It felt like a total Bollywood dream."
At the time, Boman Irani ran a successful ad agency and was renowned for his photography skills, long before he became a household name in films. Radhika couldn’t believe her luck. "Coming from Pune with only theatre behind me, this was huge," she added.
She headed to Boman’s office, where he pulled out all the stops—arranging makeup artists, hairstylists, and studio lights. It turned out to be her first glamorous shoot, blending Indian and Western outfits. "The pictures turned out amazing! I was speechless—they were that good," Radhika gushed.
Radhika also feels grateful for another early opportunity. She had previously been photographed by Amalendu Chaudhary, who later became a famous cinematographer. "Those shots were so natural, totally different from Boman’s glamorous ones," she said. "I’m lucky that two such brilliant artists captured me right at the start of my journey."
Today, Radhika Vidyasagar shines in popular shows like Udne Ki Aasha, Tuza Maza Breakup, and the film Munjya. Her story highlights the warmth and mentorship in the Indian entertainment industry, inspiring many aspiring actors. Fans can’t get enough of these behind-the-scenes tales from her Marathi TV and Bollywood adventures!
