Censor Board clears Rashmika Mandanna’s ‘The Girlfriend’ for release with U/A certificate

In Hyderabad, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given the green light to Rahul Ravindran’s new romantic drama, The Girlfriend, for a U/A release. The film will welcome audiences on November 7, according to the production house, Geetha Arts, which posted the news on its social media channels.
The movie stars lead actress Rashmika Mandanna and actor Dheekshith Shetty. Fans of the pair are already eager for the film, and the theater‑goers can expect a heart‑felt story that blends intense drama with relatable emotions—promises the trailers have already confirmed.
In the trailer, Rashmika plays Bhooma, who tells her boyfriend Vikram to take a short break. The scene then flashes back to Vikram’s proposal, and we see a tense dynamic, with Vikram portrayed as dominating and Bhooma struggling to find her own voice in a toxic relationship. The film also features Anu Emmanuel as a skeptical friend who questions the couple’s future.
Rahul Ravindran wrote and directed the story, while Hesham Abdul Wahab supplies the music and Krishnan Vasant handles the cinematography. Rashmika praised the director on his birthday, saying that his emotional depth is evident in every frame and that she trusts him completely.
With a U/A certificate, The Girlfriend is set to roll out worldwide tomorrow, Nov. 7. Viewers can expect a dramatic romance that keeps them talking long after the credits roll.
