Mumbai, India – Bollywood fans, get ready for some laughs and romance! The trailer for Huma Qureshi’s upcoming comedy-drama “Single Salma” just dropped, giving a fun peek into a story full of twists and cultural clashes.
In the film, directed by Nachiket Samant, Huma plays 33-year-old Salma Rizvi, who’s all set for an arranged marriage with Sikandar, portrayed by Shreyas Talpade. But things take a hilarious turn when she heads to London and sparks fly with Meet, played by Sunny Singh. What follows is a wild mix of two cities, two cultures, and two wedding parties – or “baraatis” – leading up to one epic wedding night you won’t forget.
Star Studio18 presents “Single Salma” in partnership with Elemen3, with production credits going to Alok Jain, Ajit Andhare, Saqib Saleem, Elemen3 Entertainment, Lalaland Entertainment, and Firuzi Khan. Sunny Singh and Shreyas Talpade round out the key cast. Mark your calendars – the movie hits theaters on October 31, 2025.
On another note, Huma Qureshi has been making waves internationally too. Her latest project, “Bayaan,” recently screened at the Toronto International Film Festival 2025, which kicks off in September. The film comes from writer-director Bikas Ranjan Mishra, famous for his award-winning drama “Chauranga.”
“Bayaan” got its start at Film Independent in Los Angeles and comes from Platoon One Films, led by producer Shiladitya Bora. The studio’s behind hits like the Filmfare-winning “Ghaath” (which premiered at Berlinale 2023) and the National Award-winning “Picasso” (Amazon Prime’s first direct-to-digital Marathi film).
It’s a co-production with Madhu Sharma of Summit Studios, Kunal Kumar, Anuj Gupta, and Switzerland’s Sadik Keshwani of Guidant Films. Huma Qureshi steps up as executive producer, adding her touch to this promising story.
