Hyderabad, November 3 — The makers of Karthik Dandu’s upcoming mythological thriller, tentatively titled #NC24 and starring Naga Chaitanya, have moved the reveal of actress Meenakshi Chaudhary’s character to tomorrow. The change comes after a devastating bus crash in Telangana’s Chevella mandal that killed at least 17 people and injured many more.
The production house, Sri Venkateshwara Cine Chitra (SVCC), posted on X (formerly Twitter) that they were “deeply saddened by the tragic incident in Chevella, Rangareddy district.” The company pledged condolences to the families who lost loved ones and offered prayers for the injured. In the wake of the tragedy, the team announced the postponement of the character poster that was originally slated for 10:08 am on Monday.
The accident struck the Hyderabad‑Bijapur highway near Mirzaguda, about 60 km from Hyderabad, at 6:30 am on Monday. A bus traveling from Tandur to Hyderabad was hit by a tipper truck loaded with concrete coming from the opposite direction. The collision ripped through a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus carrying around 70 passengers. Seventeen people died, including 10 women, the bus driver, and the truck driver. Several others were seriously hurt.
The news came as many fans are buzzed about #NC24. Naga Chaitanya first spoke about the film in an interview with a YouTube channel a few months back. He described the project as a heavy‑VFX mythological film that is unlike any of his previous 15 movies. He also hinted that the story involves adventure and treasure hunting.
Karthik Dandu, known for the horror thriller Virupaksha, is directing the film. BVSN Prasad produces it. Director Sukumar crafted the script, while cinematographer Neil D. Cunha and composer Ajaneesh Loknath will shape the film’s look and sound. Editing is handled by award‑winning editor Navin Nooli, and art direction comes from Sri Nagendra Tangala, who worked on Thandel.
While the character reveal is delayed, the excitement around NC24 remains high. Fans and industry watchers are looking forward to the film’s debut and to seeing how it blends mythology with modern storytelling. The production team’s timely decision reflects respect for those affected by the Chevella tragedy and underscores the film’s commitment to a thoughtful release.
