India U19 Cricket Team Gears Up for Australia Tour with Intense Training in Bengaluru
The young stars of India’s U19 men’s cricket team are leaving no stone unturned as they prepare for an exciting multi-format series against Australia. They recently wrapped up a high-energy training camp at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru, focusing on everything from speedy runs and sharp diving catches to pinpoint direct throws.
Promising talents like Vaibhav Suryavanshi and captain Ayush Mhatre led the squad through rigorous drills. Coaches at the CoE also fine-tuned the players’ batting and bowling skills to get them match-ready.
The BCCI shared on social media: "The India U19 boys trained at the BCCI Centre of Excellence ahead of their tour of Australia. The camp focused on technical, physical, and tactical aspects of the game, ensuring comprehensive readiness."
Ayush Mhatre will captain the side on this much-anticipated India U19 Australia tour. The action kicks off with a 50-over match on September 21 at Ian Healy Oval in Brisbane, followed by two more one-day games on September 24 and 26. Things then shift to longer formats with four-day matches – the first starting September 30 back at Ian Healy Oval, and the second from October 7 in Mackay.
Vihaan Malhotra, who shone on the recent U19 tour of England, steps up as vice-captain. The squad features four fresh faces compared to the England series: Vedant Trivedi, Khilan Patel, Udhav Mohan, and Aman Chauhan replace Maulyarajsinh Chavda, Pranav Raghavendra, Mohammed Enaan, and Yudhajit Guha (now a standby player).
India’s U19 team carries high hopes after sweeping Australia in both 50-over and multi-day formats during last year’s home series. They aim to repeat that dominance on Australian soil. Yere Goud leads as head coach, with support from spin bowling coach Rajib Datta, fast bowling coach Debashish Mohanty, and fielding coach Shubhadeep Ghosh.
Cricket fans, keep an eye on these rising stars – the India U19 Australia tour promises thrilling action and more breakout performances!
