Mumbai, November 1 – The music duo known as Shor Police – composer‑singer pair Clinton Cerejo and Bianca Gomes – is crafting a fresh soundscape for the coming Netflix film “Baramulla.” The supernatural drama, set in Kashmir’s striking yet eerie hills, finds its mood intensified by a score that blends folk rhythms with modern twists.
“I’m usually not into horror, but writing this score let me decide what’s scary,” Clinton told reporters. “We played with unexpected percussion and sudden silences to create tension. Those jump‑cuts became musical cues, and the traditional rabab grounded the sound in the film’s setting.”
Three original tracks push the film’s emotional range.
-
“Neend Ke Shikare” – a lull‑song sung by Shilpa Rao, re‑imagining the Kashmiri folk classic Hokhus Bokhus. Light strings, soft drums and haunting harmonies paint a scene of a mother soothing her child amid conflict, blending tenderness with a subtle edge that echoes “Baramulla’s” underlying fear.
-
“Phirse Dikhe” – performed by Krishna Beuraa, this upbeat number pulls from the folk song Arni Rang Gome. Acoustic guitars and earthy rhythms offer a burst of hope, giving viewers a respite from the story’s darker moments and reminding them that joy can still surface even in despair.
-
“Baramulla” – the title track, a bold electronic anthem that crowns the soundtrack. Clinton and Bianca drive the song with a swirling rabab motif, marrying modern beats and haunting melody to the film’s themes of mystery and duality. The track feels both fresh and cinematic, keeping listeners intrigued and moved.
Bianca added, “Seeing the film, I knew the music had to mirror the landscape of Kashmir—beautiful, yet unsettling. We wove Kashmiri folk elements subtly into every cue so the fear feels organic, not forced.”
“Baramulla” is directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, produced by Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar. The streaming movie will hit Netflix on November 7, offering audiences a gripping story set against the breathtaking backdrop of Kashmir and a soundtrack that marries traditional sounds with contemporary flair.
