Mumbai, Nov 6 – Veteran Indian actress Deepti Naval reminded her fans of a cherished moment from her 1982 European trip. On social media the star shared a decade‑old photo of herself, her younger brother TV Rohitash, and their parents—Mama and Piti—traveling across Europe. She wrote, “One last share from my heart’s album – Europe 1982 with Mama, Piti and my younger brother TV Rohitash. On this note I’m ending my trip and all set to get back to work in Bombay. Thank you all for the lovely comments you all have written. I’ve read each one. Though I’ve not replied individually, I felt you all were right beside me through my hopping on and off trains at age 73.”
Earlier in the month she posted another family shot, this time with her father. The picture shows the duo posing outside a camper, and she added, “Sharing a precious memory of my father – in a camper through Europe – Piti and I – 1982 (sic).” The old photos were a hit with her followers, who flooded the post with heart‑warming messages.
Deepti took a moment in an exclusive chat to discuss how Bollywood has evolved. She told , “Today there is a lot of visual finesse in our movies. That’s something I like the most. Our films match international standards. Technically and visually, we’re in the same league as world cinema. Today’s talent—whether technicians or actors—has training. I didn’t learn anything; you don’t just stroll into the film industry and become an actor, like me. Everyone brings skill now, and everyone is focused.”
She praised younger filmmakers and actors, pointing to Jitesh and Alankrita as inspiration. “The younger generation is so focused and they truly believe in their dreams. They’re going all out for it,” she said. “Our director is also very inspiring as a person.” Deepti marked the end of her journey back to Mumbai, ready to dive into the next project and to see how Hindi cinema’s new wave will continue to shape the industry.
