Dick Van Dyke’s wife reveals she’s scared to go outside: ‘Someone kind of stalking me’

Arlene Silver, who’s been married to the 100‑year‑old Dick Van Dyke for decades, has said she’s hesitant to leave her house because someone she’s been seeing around Malibu keeps following her.

In a video she posted on Instagram, she admitted dropping her usual morning yoga class after realizing “there’s a guy hanging around all the places Dick visits” and that the stalking has been happening for a couple of months.

“I don’t feel comfortable even going out,” she told her followers, explaining that she’s afraid the stranger could show up at her yoga studio if she’s not careful.

The makeup artist added that her one‑hour yoga session is her only chance to unwind, but the current situation makes it hard to focus.

She’s hoping the stalker will drop the behavior soon, or else she’s considering hiring a guard for the class. In the same segment, she mentioned that her husband wants to take action, but she’s skeptical that his involvement would solve the problem.

When confronted, the would‑be stalker flat‑out denied any knowledge of what she said. Silver expressed frustration at the mental toll of being watched, and she plans to restrict herself to the gated community until she feels safe again.

Later in the clip, she reflected on the tragedy involving Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, noting that Dick has been close friends with the director for nearly his whole life.

“I have so many messages from Dick’s birthday, and I’ll be going through them for weeks,” she said, recalling that both families were deeply affected by the grim news.

The two have reportedly struggled to get some sleep after learning of the Reiners’ deaths, which were apparently carried out by their son. “It’s just unbelievable… we feel terrible for their family,” she added.
