Actor Noel Clarke, famous for his roles in Doctor Who and the gritty film Kidulthood, faced a major setback this week. Reports say London police arrested him at his family home in the upscale Kensington neighborhood on Thursday.
According to Deadline, Metropolitan Police officers raided the property and seized key items like laptops and documents to aid their ongoing investigation into Noel Clarke’s arrest. This development comes right after Clarke lost a high-stakes libel lawsuit against The Guardian.
Back in 2021, the newspaper ran a story detailing sexual misconduct allegations from more than 20 women against the 49-year-old actor. Clarke has always denied these claims. The court ruling hit him hard financially—he now owes The Guardian‘s publisher at least £3 million, or about $4 million, in legal fees.
The scandal has derailed Clarke’s acting career big time. He hasn’t landed a major UK TV role since appearing in the ITV thriller Viewpoint that same year. Before the allegations surfaced, Clarke built a solid reputation creating the indie hit Kidulthood and starring in blockbusters like Star Trek Into Darkness and the action series Bulletproof.
