President Droupadi Murmu visited Nainital on November 4 and delivered two key speeches that highlighted India’s focus on education and state development.
At Kumaun University’s 20th convocation she called on graduating students to keep learning “for life” and to use their knowledge for nation‑building. “Education is the bedrock of a country’s progress,” she said, stressing that the system must develop skills, moral values and strong character. Her message urges students to serve their communities with humility and to help build an egalitarian society.
Earlier that week, President Murmu celebrated the 125th anniversary of the Raj Bhavan in Nainital. She explained that Raj Bhavans, like Rashtrapati Bhavan, symbolize India’s democratic values at the state level. She praised Uttarakhand’s growth and expressed confidence that Governor Lt. General Gurmit Singh (Retd) and his team will continue to inspire residents as the state moves forward.
During a separate address to the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly in Dehradun, the President echoed the call for development that respects nature. “The state must progress while preserving its natural gifts,” she advised, marking the silver jubilee of Uttarakhand’s formation.
President Murmu’s visits underline the government’s commitment to education, state governance, and sustainable development across India.
