Actress Drew Barrymore opened up about a recent health scare on The Drew Barrymore Show. She explained that a “bad mammogram” led to an emergency biopsy, and she had to wait five days for the results. Barrymore said she’s fine now and is grateful to have had the test in time.
Barrymore brought up the topic because she had been thinking about cancer for a while. She mentioned meeting comedian Tig Notaro, who had a double mastectomy in 2016 after a breast‑cancer diagnosis. The two discussed how tough it can be to talk openly about scary tests and results.
The actress also praised the documentary “Come See Me in the Good Light.” The film follows poet Andrea Gibson and her wife Megan Falley as they face life after a terminal ovarian‑cancer diagnosis. Barrymore said the documentary showed hope, courage, and everyday reality in a way that felt not heavy, but honest and uplifting.
Barrymore turned 50 earlier this year and has said she won’t get any cosmetic surgery. She wants to focus on natural health and the idea that everyone’s path is different. “Don’t judge,” she told viewers. “We’re all on our own journey, and we need to support each other.”
