BB 19: Salman Khan breaks into tears, lauds Sunny Deol & Bobby Deol for a dignified farewell to late Dharmendra

Mumbai – On the finale night of Bigg Boss Season 19, Salman Khan burst into tears as he revealed the news of Dharmendra’s passing. The star, eyes swollen and voice trembling, said it had never felt so raw, especially before a national audience. “Dharmendra passed away on the 24th of November, on my father Salim Khan’s 90th birthday,” he whispered, wiping away the crying.
He went on to describe the late hero as the “He‑Man of Bollywood,” noting his timeless look and the legacy he carved over six decades. Salman’s emotions swelled further when he mentioned that Dharmendra’s birthday fell on 8 December, the same day as his mother’s. He recalled seeing two dignified funerals—one for filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya’s mother and the other for Dharamji—and praised the Deol family’s honouring of Dharmendra with love, grace, and respect. “It was such a beautiful moment to see so many people celebrate his life with so much love,” he added.
While remembering Dharmendra, a clip compiling moments of the two actors on various Bigg Boss sets played. Salman turned emotional again, noting that Dharmendra would have been present on set each season, but this time he would not be there. “If it is so difficult for me, imagine how difficult it must be for Sunny, Bobby, and Esha—all of them have made Dharamji proud. Prakash aunty, Hema ji as well,” he gasped. He stressed that no other actor could match Dharmendra’s stature and that only he deserved such universal respect in Bollywood.
Earlier in November, Salman had said the week after Dharmendra’s death would weigh heavily on the nation, the fan base, and the industry. Though he omitted the name, he spoke of “a huge loss” and confessed that he wished he could pause hosting Bigg Boss but was forced to move forward because life must go on.
Dharmendra died on 24 November at 89. Salman was among the first to arrive at the crematorium and later at the prayer gathering hosted by the Deol family on 27 November. The two shared a deep bond, having worked together in “Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya” alongside Kajol and Arbaaz Khan. Their relationship dated back over five decades to when Salim Khan co‑wrote the classic “Sholay” with Javed Akhtar, and Dharmendra played the memorable role of Veeru.
Following Dharmendra’s death, on 25 November, many prominent film personalities visited the Deol household to offer condolences. He would have marked his 90th birthday on 8 December if he were still alive. – LatestNewsX
