‘Fighter’ villain Rishabh Sawhney calls meeting Amitabh Bachchan one of the most surreal feelings
On November 28, 2023, the Mumbai‑based actor Rishabh Sawhney, best known for his role in the Hrithik Roshan film “Fighter,” shared that standing beside Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan felt like stepping into a dream.
The actor took to Instagram to gush over the visit, describing it as one of the “most surreal feelings” he has ever had. In his post he said he was deeply inspired by Amitabh’s energy and passion, calling the experience motivational.
Sawhney revealed a personal detail: he watched “Sholay” more than 150 times as a child, and finally meeting the master was a long‑awaited, once‑in‑a‑lifetime moment—a true “bucket list” achievement for him.
His caption read, “This day, the moment and the conversation will always stay with me!! Meeting @amitabhbachchan sir was one of the most surreal feeling!! The energy and passion he carries is so inspirational!!.”
Adding a thank‑you to those who helped, he wrote, “The fact that growing up ive seen sholay more than 150 times and getting to tell him that was something which was always on my bucket list!!! Thank you @monadarasingkhurana @jjoshina for making this happen!!!#rishabhsawhney.”
The shared photos show Sawhney beaming joyfully next to the veteran star.
In “Fighter,” he portrayed the antagonist Azhar Akhtar, a role that required a dramatic physical makeover. Earlier in promotion, he described the transformation as “exciting, excruciating and fulfilling,” noting that it was his first time really building muscle for a character.
He explained, “Coming from a bodybuilding background, I knew this would work in my favour and I’d been craving the chance to bulk up and grow big. I have been working out day after day for 8-9 years now and it’s literally my lifesaver.”
