A star‑filled night in Ahmedabad gave rising actor Lakshya a big moment. At the 70th Filmfare Awards, he took home the Best Debut Actor prize for his role in the film Kill.
The ceremony was a glittering affair, with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar handing over the trophy. Hosts Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan welcomed the newcomer with a warm join‑hymn and a round of applause.
Nervous but excited, Lakshya thanked the Filmfare team and the jury in his speech. He shared that he had always dreamed of standing on that stage, praising the dedication of the jury for recognizing his work. “Today my dream comes true,” he said, a line reported on the Filmfare Instagram page.
He looked sharp in a black suit and white shirt, a look that fit the awards‑night vibe. Lakshya also thanked director Karan Johar, who guided him through Kill.
Before the show, Lakshya told he was thrilled at the chance to be nominated at his first Filmfare. “I’m very happy,” he said. “This is my first nomination, and I hope I win!”
Kill premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and hit Indian theatres in July. The movie was produced under Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain.
The film also stars Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba and Bobby Deol in key roles. Lakshya also appeared in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Badseeds of Bollywood, earning rave reviews for his performance.
The 70th Filmfare Awards celebrated Bollywood’s best, and Lakshya’s win marks a promising start to what many say will be a bright career.
