Hyderabad fans got a thrilling glimpse into actress Laya’s new role today as the team behind director Sudheer Sriram’s upcoming movie dropped her character’s name and first-look poster. To celebrate the Dussehra festivities, the makers unveiled Laya as “Uttara,” a homemaker who’s anything but ordinary.

This untitled project, produced by actor Sivaji’s Sree Sivaji Productions and backed by ETV Win, goes by the working title Sivaji’s Production Number 2 for now. It promises fresh, edge-of-your-seat storytelling that keeps viewers hooked.

Laya steps into Uttara’s shoes as a woman with hidden depths—on the surface, she’s a simple family woman, but deep down, she harbors a fierce, almost criminal side. Sources say Uttara will do whatever it takes to protect her loved ones, blending everyday warmth with intense, shadowy instincts. The poster captures this perfectly, showing Laya gripping weapons in a way that reveals a bold, unseen facet of her talent.

This marks Laya’s second full-fledged role since her big comeback to Telugu cinema after nearly two decades away. She first returned in director Sriram Venu’s emotional action drama ‘Thammudu’ starring Nithiin, following a brief cameo in ‘Amar Akbar Anthony.’ Fans are already buzzing about how she’ll shine in this multi-layered character.

The film’s script comes from Mithil Kumar and Sudheer Sriram, with Ritwik Reddy handling cinematography and Ranjin Raj composing the music. As Hyderabad’s film scene heats up, keep an eye on this one for more updates on Laya’s exciting journey back on screen.
