Mumbai – The official online app of Prasar Bharati, Waves OTT, has revealed a new feature film dedicated to the life and sacrifice of Shaheed Khudiram Bose, one of India’s youngest and bravest revolutionaries. The movie will go live exclusively on the platform from 3 December, in sync with the birth anniversary of this iconic freedom fighter.

Born on 3 December 1889, Khudiram Bose remains a timeless emblem of youthful courage, patriotic devotion and revolutionary zeal. At just 18, he walked unflinchingly to the gallows, becoming one of the youngest martyrs in the country’s struggle for independence.

The tribute takes on added meaning as the nation marks 150 years since the historic slogan “Vande Mataram” was first uttered. That cry—Bose’s own rallying cry—sparked a surge of national awareness and metalness among the masses. Through the film, viewers follow Khudiram’s journey from his early days in Medinipur district, through growing involvement in underground movements, and his influential encounters, such as with Sister Nivedita.

Key scenes spotlight pivotal moments: the attempted attack on British magistrate Kingsford, his arrest and subsequent trial, and the resolute acceptance of martyrdom on 11 August 1908. In discussing the release, Shri Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of Prasar Bharati, remarked, “Waves OTT stands out because we are not chasing trends; we are preserving India’s narrative.”

While most streaming services focus on worldwide content for commercial gain, our mission is centred exclusively on India—its history, its heroes, its many tongues, and its everyday realities. With an ever‑growing catalogue of patriotic, cultural, and regionally rooted tales, we’re committed to resurrecting stories that deserve national spotlight. Bringing Khudiram Bose’s valor to the screen is a deliberate step toward enriching nation‑building cinema for audiences across the country.

The cast features Vivek Oberoi, Nasser, Atul Kulkarni, Rakesh, Maria Ravi Varma, Ravi Babu, Kasi Viswanath, and Abhiram. Vijay Jagarlamudi directs, DVS Raju produces, Mani Sharma supplies the music, and Thota Tharani designs the production.

In four languages—Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali—the film invites viewers nationwide to immerse themselves in Khudiram Bose’s inspiring story. Streaming will commence on Waves OTT on 3 December.
