George Clooney just confirmed that the famous “Ocean’s” heist movies are getting a fresh chapter. In a recent interview with E! News, the 64‑year‑old actor revealed that Warner Bros. has green‑lit a new budget for the series and the crew is already planning the schedule. He said they’re aiming to start filming in roughly nine or ten months, so fans can expect a new “Ocean’s 14” sometime next year.
The original 2001 “Ocean’s 11” roared in theaters with George Clooney playing the clever thief Danny Ocean, joined by Julia Roberts (Tess), Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle. Since then, Steven Soderbergh directed the sequels “Ocean’s 12” (2004), “Ocean’s 13” (2007) and the spin‑off “Ocean’s Eight” (2018), which featured Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna and other A‑list stars. The franchise has earned almost $4.5 billion worldwide, proving that fans still love a slick heist storyline.
Clooney told reporters that he’s excited to reunite with his former co‑stars. “Yeah, Brad, Matt, Don and Julia are all great friends. Working with them again would be a lot of fun,” he said. He mentioned that the cast is also meeting up for a casual dinner last night, hinting that the chemistry is intact.
Beyond the returning team, there are whispers about a pre‑quel film that would explore Danny Ocean’s family backstory. Reports say Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling will play his parents. “It makes sense,” Clooney joked, “Margot’s my mom, Ryan’s my dad.” The film is still in early development, but producers hope it will add depth to the beloved series.
Producer Josey McNamara added that the team is “trying to do right by the franchise,” and they’re keeping details under wraps for now. He expressed excitement for audiences when the movie finally hits theaters.
Clooney also reminded fans that there’s a strong script waiting. “We have a really good script for another ‘Ocean’s’ now,” he told Uproxx. “It’s actually a great script.”
While the new “Ocean’s” project gears up, Clooney continues to keep his personal life out of the spotlight. Recently, he and his wife, Amal, moved from Los Angeles to New York City to support a Broadway production of his 2005 play, “Good Night, and Good Luck.” He’s enthusiastic about the city’s vibe, saying “They love being here. I mean, come on, how do you not love this? It’s New York City.”
With an approved budget, a returning star‑packed cast, and fresh scripts on tap, the “Ocean’s” franchise looks set to crack a new cinematic case. Fans watching the news will know—they’ll see the familiar faces back on screen soon.
