The “Sholay” star posted a vibrant collage showing a goddess image alongside a photo of herself dressed as Goddess Durga. In her caption, she wrote, “May the nine days of Navratri bring you and your family nine times more happiness, prosperity and good health. Happy Navratri to you all,” adding hashtags like #Navratri, #Festival, and #FestiveSeason.
Other Bollywood stars joined the fun too. Actress Bhumi Pednekar visited the sacred Bawe Wali Mata Mahakali Darbar in Jammu on the first day to seek blessings from Maa Kali. Sharing her photos online, the “Dum Laga Ke Haisha” favorite said, “On the first day of Navratri, from the sacred Bawe Wali Mata Mahakali Darbar in Jammu, may the divine blessings of Maa Kali bring strength, energy, and new successes into your life.”
Shardiya Navratri 2025 started on September 22, launching nine days of devotion to Goddess Durga across India. The festival’s first day, called Pratipada, honors Maa Shailputri, the daughter of the Himalayas. People celebrate with dances, prayers, and feasts, marking the victory of good over evil and showcasing India’s colorful cultural heritage. This year’s festivities run until October 1, wrapping up with Dussehra on October 2.
Hema Malini, a true Bollywood icon, launched her career in 1963 with the Tamil film “Idhu Sathiyam” and stepped into Hindi cinema in 1968 with “Sapno Ka Saudagar.” She shone in classics like “Sholay,” “Satte Pe Satta,” “Seeta Aur Geeta,” “Kasauti,” “Trishul,” and “Mehbooba.” Fans last saw her on screen in the 2020 romantic drama “Shimla Mirchi,” directed by Ramesh Sippy and starring Rajkummar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh.
