Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan kicked off Durga Puja celebrations in style on Wednesday, October 1, by visiting the 79th North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal in Mumbai. He sought blessings at the vibrant setup, drawing crowds of fans and photographers.
Hrithik bumped into his upcoming War 2 director, Ayan Mukerji, during the visit. The two shared a moment of prayer before striking poses together for the cameras, giving fans a sneak peek at their on-screen chemistry off-screen.
Opting for a relaxed vibe, Hrithik skipped traditional outfits and rocked a crisp white shirt paired with matching pants and a white cap. He looked effortlessly cool amid the festive energy.
Not long after, Alia Bhatt made her own special appearance at the same pandal. Dressed in a stunning lehenga, she turned heads and offered prayers to Goddess Durga, soaking in the spiritual atmosphere.
Alia’s visit got even more exciting when she spotted actress Rani Mukerji. The two rushed into a warm hug, chatting animatedly before posing for photos. Ayan Mukerji and Rani’s sister Tanisha Mukerji joined in, creating a joyful group moment that lit up social media.
Durga Puja, also called Durgotsava or Sharodotsava, is one of India’s biggest Hindu festivals. It honors Goddess Durga’s triumph over the demon Mahishasura in Hindu mythology. Devotees believe the goddess visits Earth during this time to bless her followers. The festivities build up over 10 days and wrap up on Vijayadashami, or Dussehra, celebrating good over evil with grand processions and community gatherings.
