Mumbai, Nov 25 – The loss of Bollywood legend Dharmendra on November 24 shook the entire country, especially the film community. The next day, the film elite gathered at his Mumbai home to deliver their sympathies to the Deol family. Later that evening, Hrithik Roshan and his father, director‑actor Rakesh Roshan—who had shared the set with Dharmendra in the 1983 film Teesri Aankh that also starred Shatrughan Sinha—sent their support to the grieving clan.
In the afternoon, Ajay Devgn joined the visit, along with director Farah Khan, actress Ananya Panday, Kajol, Jackky Bhagnani and his wife Rakul Preet Singh, and filmmaker Abbas Mastan. Every one of them stopped by to console the Deol family.
Dharmendra was scheduled to turn 90 on December 8. He passed away at 89 after a period of ventilator support caused by breathing problems. He had been discharged from the hospital a few weeks earlier and was being treated at home.
He leaves behind his first wife, Prakash Kaur, and their four children—Sunny, Bobby, Ajeta, and Vijayta. He is also survived by his second wife, superstar Hema Malini, and their two daughters, Esha and Ahana. A video of Bobby crying after his father’s death has gone viral on social media.
