Mumbai, India – Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan shared his joy on X after India’s women’s cricket team thumped Pakistan by 88 runs in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
The superstar, who is known for his love of sport, typed, “Jai Hind, Jai Bharat,” and posted a photo of the celebratory moment.
India’s women delivered a show‑stopping performance. They scored 247 runs, with Sidra Amin leading the attack with an 81‑run knock off 106 balls. Pakistan’s best batsman, Diana Baig, took 4 wickets for 69 runs, but the Indian bowlers were the real heroes. Kranti Goud claimed 3 for 20 and Deepti Sharma added 3 for 45, making up the 6‑wicket haul that secured the win.
During the chase, Pakistan struggled from the start, losing 26 runs for 3 wickets in their first 12 overs thanks to Goud’s early bowling. Sidra Nawaz and Natalia Pervaiz gave a brief 69‑run partnership, but India’s bowlers tightened up again, punctuating the innings with wickets from Sneh Rana and the other spinners. Pakistan finished at 159 all out in 43 overs.
India’s triumph keeps their perfect World Cup record against Pakistan at 5‑0. On the broader women’s ODI scene, India now stands with a 12‑match winning streak.
The win not only sweetens a repeat of past victories but also reinforces India’s growing dominance in women’s cricket that is drawing fans across the country and online.
