Isha Koppikar Sings Rainy Day Classic Amid Mumbai Monsoon Vibes
Mumbai’s rains are bringing out the nostalgia in former actress Isha Koppikar. On a cozy morning, she shared a fun Instagram video where she sips hot coffee and breaks into the timeless song "Chal Kahin Door Nikal Jayen" from the 1977 film Doosra Aadmi. The classic track, originally sung by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, and Mohammed Rafi, perfectly captures those rainy day feels.
In the clip, Isha asks, "Early in the morning, especially when the weather is like this, which song comes to mind?" She then hums a few lines, looking relaxed and joyful. The song features Rishi Kapoor and Rakhee in the movie, directed by Ramesh Talwar. It stars big names like Raakhee, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, and Shashi Kapoor. The story dives into a lonely ad professional grappling with loss, getting caught up with a newlywed couple—exploring themes of grief, emotions, and hidden attractions.
Isha captioned her post: "Kya mausam hai ae deewane…. Coffee time with such lovely weather. Enjoy it, I am doing it. Good morning. #rainvibes #nostalgia #moodygrams." It’s the kind of rainy morning moment that hits home for anyone loving Mumbai monsoon vibes.
Fans know Isha from her recent role in the 2024 sci-fi hit Ayalaan, directed by R. Ravikumar. She joined stars like Sivakarthikeyan, Rakul Preet Singh, Sharad Kelkar, Yogi Babu, and more, with Siddharth voicing the lead alien character. The plot follows Thamizh teaming up with an extraterrestrial buddy named Tattoo to stop a mad scientist from unleashing a dangerous Nova gas that could wipe out Earth. If you’re into fun, action-packed sci-fi films, Ayalaan is a must-watch.
Just last month in August, exciting news came about Isha’s next project. She’s playing a mother in the upcoming short film Rocketship, made by eager students at Subhash Ghai’s Whistling Woods International academy. Isha shared her enthusiasm, saying, "When I was approached by the students, I was more than happy and willing to help them out with the project. These students have immense potential, and that became very evident when they narrated the story and the script to me."
She connected deeply with the young filmmakers, adding, "I relate to these kids because they are starting from scratch, just like I did. I had no Godfather in the industry. So to see them build their dreams from the beginning is more than motivating and fulfilling for me." Isha even referenced the 2019 film Saand Ki Aankh, where Neena Gupta called out ageism in casting. "Why cast 30-year-olds as 50 or 60-year-olds when talented veterans are ready? They’re not jaded—they’re gold," she noted, pushing for real representation in Indian cinema.
Isha’s journey from Bollywood roles to supporting new talent shows her passion for storytelling. Keep an eye on her Instagram for more #nostalgia moments and updates on Rocketship. What’s your go-to rainy day song?
