Raghava Lawrence, the popular actor and director from Chennai, just took his heartwarming food initiative to a new level. Through his project called Kanmani Annadhana Virundhu, he serves fancy meals typically enjoyed by the wealthy to underprivileged kids who rarely get such treats. This time, he shared a special feast with people living with Down Syndrome, bringing big smiles all around.
In a recent post on X, Lawrence shared his joy: “Kanmani Annadhana Virundhu is all about making delicious food varieties that the rich savor available to those who’ve never tried them. Food shouldn’t be a luxury—it should spark happiness in every heart. Serving my brothers with Down Syndrome this time felt extra special. Their happy faces while eating filled me with gratitude and love. With your blessings and support, I’ll keep serving others.”
Launched just days ago in honor of his late mother, the initiative aims to bridge the gap between rich and poor through simple acts of kindness. Lawrence, famous for directing the hit Kanchana film series, explained it this way: “The feasts that the rich enjoy should reach the poor too. That’s why I’m starting Kanmani Annadhana Virundhu. Twenty years back, I fed 60 kids at home. Now, we’ll find children who’ve never tasted such food and deliver it straight to them. Service is God. We’re kicking this off today—your blessings mean everything.”
Lawrence has long been a champion for the underprivileged, running his philanthropy movement called Maatram. He often shares inspiring thoughts on social media, like a recent X post: “Life throws ups and downs at us as we chase happiness outside. But true peace comes from within, especially when we serve others and make a real difference. #ServiceIsGod.”
His good deeds keep making headlines. Lately, he helped fellow actor KPY Bala build restrooms at a government school, easing life for students without proper facilities. Before that, Lawrence stepped in for a struggling father who pawned his late wife’s gold mangalsutra to pay his daughter’s college fees—he bought it back to give the family some relief.
Last year, he even purchased 10 tractors and handed them out to farmers in villages across the state, boosting their livelihoods. With stars like Raghava Lawrence leading the way in Indian philanthropy, it’s clear that small acts can create big change for the poor and needy.
