In Mumbai, veteran actor Jackie Shroff marked the 11th anniversary of the hit Bollywood film Happy New Year. The milestone sparked a wave of nostalgia for fans and reminded everyone how memorable the 2014 action‑comedy still feels.

Jackie posted a short clip on his Instagram Stories, showing a lively scene from the movie that starred Shah Rukh Khan, Sonu Sood, Deepika Padukone, and Abhishek Bachchan. The clip also featured the popular soundtrack “India Waale.” He captioned the post simply: “#11yearsofhappynewyear.”

Happy New Year was directed by Farah Khan and launched in 2014. The film’s story follows Charlie, a non‑dancer who builds a team to win a dance competition in a Dubai hotel while staging a diamond heist. In addition to the star‑studded cast listed above, the movie helped cement Shahrukh Khan’s and Jackie Shroff’s popularity in the industry.

The script even won a spot in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences library, showing the film’s lasting impact on Indian cinema.

While Jackie celebrates this anniversary, he’s also busy preparing for a fresh project. His next comedy, Welcome To The Jungle, is slated for release and will be helmed by director Ahmed Khan. The film will boast a huge ensemble, featuring big names like Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, and many more.

In recent news, Jackie also reflected on the 40‑year anniversary of Teri Meherbaniyan, the Hindi remake of the 1984 Kannada classic Thaliya Bhagya. The drama, in which Jackie plays Ram, showcased a rural setting where an honest newcomer battles a tyrannical Thakur, leading to a tense showdown.

Fans of Bollywood and Indian film history will no doubt enjoy seeing Jackie Shroff celebrate these milestones, especially on a platform as accessible as Instagram.
