Homebound, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, just got some huge news—it’s India’s official entry for the 2026 Oscars in the Best International Feature Film category. The Film Federation of India picked it as the country’s top contender for the 98th Academy Awards.
The excitement kicked off earlier that day with a press conference in Mumbai. Actors Ishaan Khatter and Vishal, along with director Neeraj Ghaywan, couldn’t hide their joy about the Oscar nod. Ishaan shared his thoughts, saying, "This is the film I’m most proud of. Bhaut garv hai mujhe ispe… It’s an extremely important film. Neeraj bhai has made this movie with a lot of thought so that it can reach a wider audience."
