Mumbai, Nov 5 – Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan, who runs a popular podcast, recently hosted rising television star Jannat Zubair on her show. The two shared a candid, mature conversation that grabbed fans’ attention.
When Soha asked which app she wished never existed, Jannat named beauty‑filter apps. “They set unrealistic beauty standards, especially for younger viewers,” she said. “It’s fine to fix a pimple or smooth skin a bit, but you can’t completely change your face.”
Jannat gave examples of how these apps alter looks. “I’ve met people who look nothing like their photos,” she explained. “Filters can change lips and eyes, add dimples, sculpt a jawline, sharpen cheekbones, and even slim a waist. It’s scary how much the visuals get tweaked.”
Fans praised Jannat’s maturity and asked about the pressure she faces with her huge social‑media following. “With 50 million followers, do you ever feel the weight of creating content?” Soha asked.
Jannat answered straight forwardly. “I don’t treat social media as a strategy. I post when I feel like it.” She added that she sometimes goes 10 days without posting, questioning why she feels pressured or why people troll her or her family. “There’s always that nagging feeling of “am I good enough?” but I try not to let it grow.”
The discussion also touched on Jannat’s career path. She began as a child actor in the TV series Phulwa, later starring in Tu Aashiqui and branching into films and music videos. Her social‑media presence now tops 50 million followers on Instagram, making her one of the most followed young stars in India—surpassing even some Bollywood legends.
