In Ujjain, many soybean farmers celebrated a new state program with a big tractor rally. Nearly 3,000 farm owners lined up at the Krishi Upaj Mandi and drove their tractors across the city’s main roads, waving signs that said thanks to the Madhya Pradesh government.
The rally honored the “Bhavantar Yojana,” a scheme launched by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav just the week before. The plan is aimed at soybean growers. If farmers sell their beans below the minimum support price (MSP), the government will pay the difference directly into the farmer’s bank account, usually 15 days after the sale. The benefit will start reaching farmers from October 24, after registration opened on October 3.
Farmers said the new program shows the government’s real support. “It keeps our income stable when prices drop,” one farmer told reporters. Others added that the scheme gives them confidence and trust in the state’s commitment to agriculture.
The Thank‑You Tractor Rally, which began on Sunday morning, passed through Ujjain’s busiest streets. Vendors, local officials and the Chief Minister’s office all joined in the celebration. Farmers praised Mohan Yadav for consistently putting their interests first and expressed hope that more welfare schemes will follow.
With the Bhavantar Yojana now active, soybean farmers across Madhya Pradesh can expect a safety net that helps protect their earnings and boosts their confidence in the coming harvest season.
