John Boyega spells out his condition to return to ‘Star Wars’

Hollywood actor John Boyega said he will only come back to the Star Wars franchise if his co‑star Oscar Isaac returns too. The 33‑year‑old star of the sequel trilogy, who played Finn, mentioned the news at Liverpool Comic Con in the UK on Sunday.
“We and Oscar are stubborn,” Boyega told the crowd. “We think the bromance between Finn and Poe should stay on the big screen.” Poe, played by Isaac, became a fan favorite in the last three films. Boyega added that any new Star Wars movie would need a great script and must also bring back Joonas Suotamo, who portrayed Chewbacca. “I just spoke to Joonas,” he said. “He must join Finn and Poe on their adventure.”
Boyega’s comments come after Isaac declined to return to Star Wars or the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Isaac cited Disney’s dismissal of host Jimmy Kimmel over controversial remarks. In a separate interview with GQ, the 46‑year‑old said he’d be open to a Star Wars return “if Disney can figure this out and avoid any political drama.”
While Boyega and Isaac’s participation remains uncertain, other former sequel‑trilogy stars are confirmed. Daisy Ridley, who played Rey Skywalker, will reappear in the upcoming film “Star Wars: New Jedi Order.”
Fans hoping to see Finn, Poe, and Chewie in a new adventure can stay tuned as Disney and the studio discuss future projects.
