Juhi posted a photo from Rishi Kapoor’s final posthumous film appearance in the 2022 movie “Sharmaji Namkeen.” In her Instagram story, she wrote, “Chintuji… You were the most spontaneous, effortless actor ever! I miss all the times we laughed so much, especially when you scolded us or beat me at scrabble. Working with you was such fun. Miss you, Chintuji. Big hug wherever you are!”
“Sharmaji Namkeen” is a comedy-drama directed by debutant Hitesh Bhatia. It made history as the first Hindi film where two actors played the same character at different times — Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal. Production of the film started in January 2020 but came to a halt after Rishi Kapoor’s sad passing in April 2020. To complete his scenes, actor Paresh Rawal stepped in to ensure the film’s finish.

Rishi Kapoor had been battling leukemia since 2018, and he traveled to New York City for treatment. After a year of successful therapy, he returned to India. Sadly, he was hospitalized just before his passing and died on April 30, 2020, due to a recurrence of leukemia.
