Keith Urban’s high‑energy High and Alive tour came to a sudden halt in Greenville, South Carolina, when he was forced to cancel his Wednesday show at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
The country‑music star, 57, was diagnosed with laryngitis earlier in the week. Laryngologist Dr. Gaelyn Garrett advised him to go on complete vocal rest. “He will be back on stage for his Nashville show,” the arena’s statement said.
Urban was already on a tight schedule, having flown in hours before his set in Greenville. He expressed his disappointment in a brief message to the fans: “Hey Greenville, I’m so sorry to cancel. I appreciate how much work goes into a concert. Looking forward to coming back soon!”
The tour, which kicked off in May, is billed as High and Alive. Urban’s next stop is the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Friday, where he is expected to perform after a quick recovery.
The news arrives amid personal headlines. For years, Urban was married to actress Nicole Kidman, who is 58. The pair began divorcing in late September, after 19 years of marriage, and Kidman filed to be the primary parent of their two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Both Kimberly and Kidman have stepped back briefly from public life, but Kidman recently appeared at the amFAR auction in Texas and later at Paris Fashion Week. Urban, meanwhile, performed in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on October 2 without his wedding ring for the first time, and he paid tribute to his ex‑wife and their children during the show.
Despite the breakup, Urban is set to finish the High and Alive tour. Fans in Greenville can expect a rescheduled date once his voice heals, and the Nashville audience is on for Friday’s performance.
